Mail merge tags allow you to insert dynamic content into your campaigns. Some merge tags, such as online view and sender address, are available to everyone. Others, such as member first name or company, depend on information you've collected from your list members.
Tags prefixed by the term "SENDER" represent information specific to you, the sender. Tags prefixed by the term "USER" represent information specific to your list members.
If you want to personalize your campaign with a "USER" merge tag, but lack information from all your list members, you can provide an alternative, default word. For instance, if you use #[USER_FNAME, Friend]# and no first name is stored for that member, the word "Friend" will be used instead. If you do not provide a default word, and no information is stored, the tag will result in a blank.
